The Fort Worth League of Neighborhood Associations had its first General Membership Meeting of 2018 on March 1 at University Christian Church.
The topic of the program was Street Light Maintenance in the City of Fort Worth. Marisa Conlin, an Engineering Manager in Transportation & Public Works, was our guest speaker. She gave us an overview of her street light team and their responsibilities and challenges caring for the 66,000 lights in the city. Marisa brought two examples of LED lamps and we learned a lot about the system. There were many good questions from the group and Marisa left us with a handout and contact information. Frederico Hernandez from TxDOT attended as a guest and answered some questions relating to the state’s relationship with the city and the street light system. It was an interesting and informative evening.
We were pleased to have some new and returning neighborhoods represented and it was nice to meet some new friends.
